Balagan is pleased to present another exciting collaboration with experimental music series Non-Event, with a radically varied triple-bill merging music and film performance, set to take place at the recently opened venue in Kendall Square, Le Laboratoire.
The inimitable Bruce McClure will make his welcome return with a new 16mm projector performance entitled "Parallel Rows Cover Every Foot," fresh from it's premiere at the 2015 Media City Festival. As with other performances by Bruce, one can expect a multisensory bombardment of pulsing light and sound, via bi-packed film loops filtered through an array of guitar effects pedals and played back at soul-shaking volume. Bruce will also open the evening with "Preludes in Arabesque for 35mm," utilizing a semi-portable 35mm projector placed in the same room as audience (an extreme rarity for 35mm).
Also performing that evening will be musicians David Grubbs (Squirrel Bait, Bastro, Gastr del Sol) and Geoff Mullen.
